Diverticulitis Evaluation of Patient Burden, Utilization & Trajectory (DEBUT) is a study examining outcomes for patients with diverticulitis. The goal of the DEBUT study is to improve diverticulitis care by better understanding
how doctors and patients make decisions to have elective (non-emergency) surgery to remove all or part of the colon
how treatment decisions affect symptoms, quality of life, and overall health
the impact of diverticulitis on patients’ lives
Results of this study will help to develop a patient-centered model of care for diverticulitis, inform patient and clinician decision-making, and develop future studies of new diverticulitis treatments.
