A patient’s risk of negative outcomes from surgery is often both pre-determined and modifiable before entering the operating room. The Strong for Surgery initiative aims to identify and improve evidence-based practices for elective surgical patients in four target areas (click each icon to read more):

“Educating patients about their nutritional needs is vital when they are facing surgery and recovery. I’ve seen many instances where the checklist works as a tool clinicians can use to screen for risk-factors and facilitates conversations with their patients.”
